Hi all,

Just thought I'd pass this along. If you use Jungledisk for online backup with the Amazon S3 storage service, you should check your bill for extra unusual data OUT transfer charges. JD moved some equipment out from an S3 data center and into their own data center. In so doing, they inadvertently made it so JD customers using Amazon S3 for storage started incurring extreme data out transfer charges. My total backup bill for several computers went from < $ 15 to > $ 65 in March. They're working on the problem, but I've had to suspend my online backups until they figure out what they're doing about it. If you're in this situation, you should raise a trouble ticket with Jungledisk. If so, encourage them to set up a refund so you can get your lost money back.

Sincerely,

Ron
