This started out as my summer project and now that summer's pretty much over, it's still unresolved. After SEVERAL hours this summer, Google and I have come up with lots of things that don't work. :( Here's my scenario and if anyone can point me in any direction, it would be GREATLY appreciated--This is using Windows Server 2003 R2.
I want my Student users to have home drives and have access to a common shared grade-level folder. Faculty need their home drives, access to a common shared staff folder, access to the students' common grade level folder, and access to the individual home folders for the students in the grade level(s) they teach. I have everyone's Home drive created under "Home folder--Connect to H: drive" on the Profile tab in AD. (This can be changed if there is a better way to do it.) There are grade-level Security Groups and a Staff Security Group. My question is what is the EASIEST way to create access to the shared drives? Any thoughts on how to achieve what I'm trying to do with the teachers' access to different folders? Login script(s)? Group Policy? Thanks in advance for any and all help! -Jim Jim Ochs [email protected] Potomac CUSD #10 7915 US Rte 136 Potomac, IL 61865 ph: 217-987-6155 fax: 217-987-6663
