CentreSIS is open source and has a community edition that is 100% free. When I looked at, I didn't see a free version of Focus-SIS any more. I thought it used to be though.
Just having student list filters and then one click access from there to print or an excel file is a huge leap forward for this school. I don't know if we'll even be setting up all the courses and doing attendance this year with it. Having centralized basic information is going to be a big jump.
