I'm having a tough time with printers. I dropped my printer drivers in a public SMB share on our Apple server, and I'm pointing the INF file there. However, every time the printer is installed on the client machine, I get an error that it can't find the drivers.
For example, I've got an XP workstation and it's supposed to get drivers for a Color LaserJet 3600. It seems to find the printer okay, but it can't find the drivers. The Printer Alias is \\apollo\LJ3600Lab, which is the share name on the print server The Print INF File is \\apollo\Public\Printers\HPLJ3600\hpc3600e.inf If I put that INF File URL in the My Computer address bar on the client, the INF file opens in Notepad just fine. I don't seem to have any sharing issues as I'm able to read and write to the shared directory just fine. It's just the FOG Service that appears to not be able to get to the share. Note I've given the world read/write permissions to this share. What am I missing? Thanks, Mike Oliveri Roanoke-Benson CUSD 60 | Subscription info at http://www.tech-geeks.org |
