I have a couple on the community links page of our web site. One company is located here and provides a lot of printing at low cost or free for us. The other commercial link is the company we bought our security cameras for. They gave me a pretty decent discount if I'd link to their page. The other two are governmental agencies. The community has had no negative or positive reaction. They are more upset with the fact that the picture on the top of the page is not our kids. I did run it by the board before I did it and they had no problem with it. I assume they checked with the attorney before I added the security camera place.

My first inclination is to run fast away from this idea but with everyone and everybody hurting for money these days.... Is there anyone out there that currently has paid advertising somewhere on their website? How did the school community and the community-at-large react to the presence of ads? Is this even possible in Illinois? I read an article in USA Today about Arizona doing this - their legislature had to pass a bill before district were allowed to sell ads. Wisconsin, Virginia, California, and South Dakota are also thinking about doing this. -------------------------------- Erich Grauke Director of Technology Emmons School District 33 24226 W.
