Kyle,

In WDS, if you go to the server and right click on it in the left side of the
MMC, and go to properties you have to choose the Multicast tab. When getting
ours setup, I didn't realize we had to set the "Multicast IP Address" section
of that tab to "Use addresses from the following range". I think it is set to
a default IPv4 From: 239.0.0.1 to 239.0.0.254. This works for us. Also, when
setting up the multicast session, I have had to then "refresh" the server by
clicking on the server, and then choosing the refresh button and then going to
the Multicast Transmissions folder to see if the clients are sitting there
waiting. This is assuming you choose "Scheduled-Cast" and then having to right
click to start the transmission.

Subject: [tech-geeks] WDS Multicasting

We are trying to get WDS multicast working, but I we are failing hardcore. We
setup up WDS and its multicast group on the server 2008 box. We then have our
machines startup, go to pxe, and select the image that the multicast group is
set to use. The computers then immediately start imagining, and not waiting
for the condition of 10 computers to happen. Any thoughts?
