Lightning, I think, at WACC this summer took the voicemail system out and it
took all summer for the vendor to fix it. Also lost one of my
firewall/routers (I have two Internet connections) right before first day of
school but it is a IPCop type firewall and we had a new on up and running in
less than an hour.

Can't really say. I think our problem had more to do with issues with us
having to contact Faronics for support. They packaged Viper with the
Deepfreeze product. I know there are several others that have had good luck
with Viper, hence we went for it from Faronics. One issue we found was that
with it packeage with DF, it created a v-drive (thawed drive). So other
clean boot cd's wouldn't detect the virus if it made it to the v-drive as it
was a virtual drive and not a partition. Made for some fun. In talking
with others on this list, they love Viper, and it has worked great for them.
I just think the packaging with Faronics didn't work out for us at this
time. I'm not ready to throw Viper to the wolves, just that the version
provided by Faronics didn't have all the options that we saw with the
enterprise version from Viper. Hopefully the work we did with Faronics
these last 2 weeks will help them out with other deployments in the future.

Oh great. I just did a purchase order for Vipre and it's getting
installed. (You are talking about the server-based virus protection
program, aren't you?) Should I dump and run?
