This is possibly an obscure bug but I thought I would post this in hopes of
maybe saving someone a bunch of time. Microsoft released Service Pack 1 for
Exchange 2010. Of course I had to jump on it within seconds of release. Common
sense says wait a bit but I was never big on that. Anyway, I started the
install, and installed the prerequisites. A few reboots later I was ready to
go. Outlook seemed fine so I thought I was good to go. But OWA (Outlook Web
Access) and Active-Sync (smartphone sync) didn't work. Long story short: The
IIS virtual directories for those services were redirected to themselves
causing an endless loop. Solution is to go into IIS and select the virtual
directories, uncheck site redirection. If you are running Exchange 2010 you
want this upgrade. OWA has added some great features. It is getting more and
more like Outlook all the time. You just might want to wait a bit.
