I have had very good luck with the Doubletake software solutions. They are, unfortunately, not free but have been a rock solid solution every time I've implemented it.

Should I be just looking for a sync program that can only run at night? Or just MS Backup? This is mostly about giving them an Remote, offsite backup, and since the VPN is already in place, also secure.
