I would plan for a central controller of some sort as well, especially if
you're planning on this deployment growing. Its not that big of a deal with a
dozen or so access points, but doing firmware upgrades on 20 or more APs is
really a pain. When we deployed our wireless a couple summers ago, we went
with a centrally managed HP solution. Compared to the Cisco and Aruba solutions
we were quoted it was a steal. And now adding an AP menas plugging it in and
adding it to the proper group. And then the central controller makes sure it is
set correctly depending on how many things are connected to it.

Something to think about, especially if you're looking to grow in the future.
Well worth the money for the controller.

We are looking at adding wireless throughout our building. Currently looking at
Cisco AP 541N Access points. For those of you who have done this before, how do
you determine how many access points you needed and where to place them? Any
other considerations/suggestions/recommendations you could provide?

Thanks
