The fact that the EETT grant has a requirement that you test 8th grade proficiency at the beginning and end of the year would make it appear that at the state level they are expecting schools to teach them something over the course of a year. I feel also that this is a prime time to not just be reinforcing keyboarding skills, but also teaching them more in depth the NETS standards.
