Good point. We have both Firefox and IE on our workstations. Many of our
staff have turned to Firefox because Skyward seems to run significantly better
on Firefox than on IE8. However as pointed out we still must use IE for a lot
of other things such as our trouble ticket system, OWA (2007 version), and a
handful of other apps that were written on the .NET and other MS-specific
platforms.

It’s not a security concern, but teachers should be made aware that some
websites were not built with cross-browser compatibility and may not function
the same way in Firefox that they do in IE. That being said, most sites do a
good job of rendering content with Firefox, and it’s only a select few who
build sites with Microsoft tools and never check to see if it will work in
another browser that are an issue.

We've always used IE in the building.... I have a solution to a problem that
may involve deploying FireFox because it seems to have fewer glitches in
running the sites they need to run.

Are there security concerns in installing Firefox for all users?
