Once an item is fully depreciated it just carries a $1 book value until such 
time that it is disposed of.  Depending on the use, you could do an accelerated 
depreciation that front loads the depreciated value (and more realistically 
reflects the actual value of assets like computers and vehicles) but this is 
usually dictated by IRS rules.

Down here we still are using technologies in our schools for 10-15 years. ;-)
Course that might have something to do with our budgets sucking bad as well.
