Chris, Double recommend the winsock reset since it's quick and easy but since you mentioned it's only occurring in the browser check for proxies and also run "hijackthis" to see if there are any errant objects in there causing you trouble. If that doesn't do the trick, we can go a step further. I can throw a tech on it if you need any help remotely as well.
