I haven't run into it for an age, but it used to be that one could save documents with a preference for a particular drawer in a multidrawer printer scenario (most directly with WordPerfect products). Check the document, change the printer and drawer and re-save it. Close the document, reopen it, and try again would be my suggestion.

She prints to it directly by IP address. For years, when she prints checks she puts the checks in drawer 3 and they print just fine. Suddenly the system has decided to do her printing out of Tray 2. I've tried different settings in the printer (paper type, etc.) and I've tried telling the Windows printer to print to Tray 3. Nothing changes. If Tray 2 is empty, it'll print from Tray 3, but that's about it. Also, if I tell it explicitly to print to Tray 3 in the printer properties dialog box when printing or through the Print & Fax in the Control Panel, it just resets itself to autoselect. Meanwhile, the preference in the printer is to use the requested tray exclusively. For now I have her doing the obvious and putting her checks in Tray 2, or just leaving Tray 2 empty.
