Well I was thinking Bleeping server also after 30-40 min of beeping!

I find it odd that it doesn't stop beeping once a new drive is placed and a 
rebuild started.

Like Michael, I thought you said "bleeping" server.   I say that often 
myself about a couple of our servers.......
