I am a Chicago Conservative and advocate of a Liberal Arts education.
As a transplant to the area I have not pledged allegiance to either
the north- or south- side ball teams. And I'm beginning to think the
argument about gun control isn't really about controlling guns . . .
it's about "controlling" human nature. The same might be said about
controlling computer usage in a school, what to block and what not to
block.

"Quarry the granite rock with razors, or moor the vessel with a thread
of silk; then may you hope with such keen and delicate instruments as
human knowledge and human reason to contend against those giants, the
passion and the pride of man" (John Newman in his book _The Idea of a
University_).
