100 a day would be a pretty safe estimate and conservative. I had 169 by 10
AM yesterday.

Well, let's go to the list archive and see what we can find...
http://lists.illinicloud.org/cgi-bin/mailman/private/tech-geeks/

September is nearly over, here's what it says at the top of the Sept.
folder:

Starting: Wed Sep 1 04:44:51 CDT 2010
Ending: Thu Sep 30 11:36:02 CDT 2010
Messages: 2078

Here's what it says for August:

Starting: Sun Aug 1 17:56:03 CDT 2010
Ending: Tue Aug 31 21:57:59 CDT 2010
Messages: 1627

Don't look at July, that's when we moved the server and everything that is
being imported (yes, the import is still running) from the old system. It
currently says:

Starting: Thu Jul 1 12:47:11 CDT 2010
Ending: Fri Jul 30 21:51:51 CDT 2010
Messages: 73783 (and growing)

If you assumed an average of 20 work days in a month, and an average of
2000 messages per month... you would be reviewing 100 email messages per day
from this list alone.

If you want/need more historical data, I can get the old server fired up and
take a look at the original archive system, it also had messages broken out
by month.

Later,
Abe
