I've got a Windows Vista laptop sitting here. If you click the user icon to log in, it starts the login process, then immediately logs out. I can get into safe mode, however.
I'm thinking it may have a virus as something wouldn't let me run Eset's online scan or download TrendMicro's HouseCall. I had to download the HouseCall executable on another machine, then run it on this Vista machine from a thumb drive. It's results came back clean, however. I found a link saying maybe it was a problem with userinit.exe and wsaupdater.exe in the System32 directory, but copying and rebooting as directed hasn't worked. Has anyone seen this before?
