There were issues with the sensors early on, but it sounds like that is not the
case with yours. Something else to check - is Bluetooth enabled? Perhaps it
is trying to switch to a Bluetooth device during the conversation. I have also
heard of issues relating to the voice enhancement that go away if you disable
this option (many people says it sounds better without it anyway). There could
also possibly be an app that is somehow interfering, though I have not heard of
this specifically - perhaps a complete wipe and restore would help (usually
only *iPhones* require this - LOL!!)

I would agree with Aaron, though, definitely take it back to Verizon - they may
or may not swap it on the spot, but they should at least be willing to send it
in for a warranty repair.

that's what I specifically did today - hit the power button before I talked to
another parent......made sure the screen was black - bam within two words, mute.
I have always went with whatever free phone verizon was hawking at the time of
my renewal. Can't believe I actually paid money for this thing. Oh well.

never had a problem with my droid. the phone is supposed to shut off the
screen when it detects a object/face near the screen on calls. mine works
fine, maybe watch it as you put it up to face to make sure the screen is going
blank. also you could hit the power button ot blank the screen but that would
get annoying on each call?

I am so ready to smash my droid into a hundred pieces.......doesn't matter what
I do, it mutes while I'm on calls! I have literally googled it and know other

(which doesn't work well when you have nosy 8y old girl) has anyone had this
problem and found a way to make it stop??
