Indeed. I'd like to know if there is any particular case that date strings in bootloader helped users tracking problem, or annoying examples on x86 bootloaders without date strings. I think it's enough to bump a version number on possible functional changes. Fewer changes on boot than kernels. --- Izumi Tsutsui
