dmesg should tell you something like:
sd40: sync (12.50ns offset 62), 16-bit (160.000MB/s) transfers, tagged queueing
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
but you can add printfs() to the mpt driver to see if it's operating in
tagged queuing mode or not.
