Hello. As of NetBSD-5.0, I can run FreeBSD statically linked binaries without a problem. I'm using the FreeBSD binary of t_cli, as someone else is, and it says the following:
#file /usr/local/sbin/tw_cli /usr/local/sbin/tw_cli: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (FreeBSD), statically linked, for FreeBSD 5.4, stripped The machine from which that came is: #uname -a NetBSD host.via.net 5.0_STABLE NetBSD 5.0_STABLE (RBL) #2: Mon Nov 8 14:53:08 PST 2010 buh...@arathorn.via.net:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/RBL i386 On Mar 1, 9:25am, Takahiro Kambe wrote: } Subject: Re: Status and future of 3rd party ABI compatibility layer } Hi, } } In message <20110225213512.ga23...@britannica.bec.de> } on Fri, 25 Feb 2011 22:35:12 +0100, } Joerg Sonnenberger <jo...@britannica.bec.de> wrote: } > FreeBSD (does it even handle FreeBSD 4?) } At least, old static linked FreeBSD binary stop working from Apr. 2009 } at least. } } Subject: kern/41288: FreeBSD emulation stop working } } I used an old dictonary server product (eWnn). } } -- } Takahiro Kambe <t...@back-street.net> >-- End of excerpt from Takahiro Kambe
