I wrote various stuff about using a Sun type-3 keyboard on a peecee serial port, sent here because I was trying to use the Sun keyboard driver in the kernel.
Turns out it's actually fairly simple and easy to do this in the X server instead. With just one evening's hacking on it, I have it almost totally working; the only thing that doesn't work right is autorepeat, and that (a) will probably be easy to fix once I figure out what needs fixing and (b) should be taken elselist to be discussed. So, while I do think it would be good to be able to attach kbd (or ms) at com even on completely Sun-unrelated ports, it is of little practical significance to me now. /~\ The ASCII Mouse \ / Ribbon Campaign X Against HTML [email protected] / \ Email! 7D C8 61 52 5D E7 2D 39 4E F1 31 3E E8 B3 27 4B
