hello. Looks like it went in on November 25, 2006, according to CVS. NetBSD-4 appears to have been branched in August 2006. So, you're right, it's possible this didn't work with the initial release of 4.0, but it is definitely in netbsd-4 branch and the NetBSD-4.1 release.
