% vi sys/arch/i386/conf/PHILO001
[ find my device and uncomment/comment it
% ./build.sh -u tools kernel=PHILO001

Maybe missing a commands ?
it 's a first time to compile a netbsd's kernel !
Have you another version of script commands ?
