All, I am twiddling a Samsung NC10 equipped with an ICH7-M sata controller whose bios setup does not offer* an AHCI option. NetBSD attaches it as piixide.
The procedure suggested in <https://dreamlayers.blogspot.com/2016/11/switching-from-ide-to-ahci-on-ich7-m.html>, running a setpci command from grub, successfully put the controller in AHCI mode and booted an ubuntu 16 installation. Is there a way (PCI quirk?) for NetBSD to switch the controller to AHCI in the config phase? Cheerio, hauke *Reportedly, there are other vendors' models from that period with similar problems -- Hauke Fath <[email protected]> Ernst-Ludwig-Straße 15 64625 Bensheim Germany
