The reason to do this is that there is a complex set of ifdefs to expose the functions that should not be otherwise exposed, and also they are not related to the context of the machine. Patch at https://www.netbsd.org/~christos/lwp-private.diff. I'll commit it in a couple of days if there are no comments.
