I believe that http://gnats.netbsd.org/28402 can be closed.
The bug is against termcap in NetBSD 2.0. I cannot replicate the problem in NetBSD 10.1_STABLE in xterm or the console, and termcap "has been superseded by terminfo(5)" anyway.
The replication steps were: 1. in a terminal, type: tput vi 2. observe that the cursor is no longer shown. 3. type: reset 4. observe that the cursor has not been restored. Thanks. Jacob
