As per my analysis, Most of the DVD writers are compatible with both DVD+RW/DVD+R format as well as the DVD-RW/DVD-R format. It will be specified collectively as DVD�RW.
The difference between them is that these formats are supported and created by different groups of companies. DVD+RW/DVD+R is supported by "DVD+RW Alliance".
