Hi All, The problem is related basically with a device which we have in our lab.The device is sensor...and is integerated with a desktop PC using ISO slot card.The sensor comes with a software of its own...which displays a value ....(basically coordinates). We want to use that value...in an other program of ours ..So we want that value to come and sit in a excel sheet or in a txt pad...( the value is changing...so it should be dynamic..) The software made by the sensor does not give this facility or I dont whether there is way out from that software.But lately I found another software(http://www.penkiln.com) which can do the same thing( display the coordinates)....the software maker claims that the whole program is written thru activeX controls.(http://www.penkiln.com/desc.html) The author of the software says that the software comes with a dll file.once u have *.dll file u can use program in VB or using javascript..call that ActivX object and get the value(coordinates) we want..He also shows a html page which uses javascript to get that display value...in that code he tries to call that object from the dll file and gets the display value... we want something similar to it but into a excel sheet cells or into a txt file thru vb or anything else convinenient for u. If u want to give a try,u can actually download the software from that website.It is not necessay to have a sensor at ur place ..as the software is made such that...even the sensor is not there...a simulated display value is shown...so u can try to get the simulated display value into excel sheet without actual sensor not being at ur place. Our budget for this project would be around 100 sgd..so around 2500 Rs. So if u think, u can work out or try sending to ur friends....please let me know..
