How do I get rid of it?

The hot_plug seems to be RAID related as you said.
RAID is just a hard drive backup/mirroring technique
used by users who either want more speed saving and
accessing data or who wants to have a backup of
everything. You should know if you have RAID installed
or not, unless someone installed it without your
knowledge...
