get rid of the virus first. it is possible that the virus has changed settings preventing you from getting to the taskmanager, as you might be able to end the viral process from there

scan your entire system using a good antivirus package with the latest updates, atleast you need to know the name of the virus, after which you might be able to get either a removal tool, or removal instructions from symantec's site.

Update ur windows and keep an updated antivirus running at all times, install a firewall and keep away from suspicious media, attachments, files and websites
