Yes, the HTTP gateway knows everything about your request/insert habits.

Yes, this is a problem. The current way to address this is to use the
anonimity filter, which should warn you if a site attempts to do anything that
could reveal information about you (images stored on outside servers, etc...)
but it is disabled by default, and there may be ways of getting around it.
