Perhaps people disagree - but I'd think that freenet will be especially
popular with small users: cable modems, ADSL etc; as opposed to large sites
with big bandwidth. Even if there will be a few with lots of bandwidth,
the people with small bandwidth will be in the majority and hence provide
most of the security in terms of hiding where data is stored etc.
With that in mind, I have to say that the idea of spreading a single file
on multiple nodes gets more interesting. Not only from the viewpoint that
it allows one to evade certain laws which will not applicible(?) when nobody
stores the complete document (and nobody routes and caches the complete
document) as was discussed before, but also because then it becomes possible
to achieve a cable modems maximum download speed - being larger than its upload
speed in most cases.
