I've said something about PCOS (P2P Common Service Framework) in the devl
list. In case Timm isn't aware of that, here's the link again:

Basically, I'm going to include a Freenet client in PCOS. And PCOS is under
MIT license (which is logically equivalent to BSD). Your problem is solved
already. As to which protocol to use, I was going to use SOAP. But this move
doesn't seem too welcomed by the Freenet community. I guess I'll have choose
between FCP and XML-RPC. In any case, a Freenet client will be in PCOS. No
worry.
