It's called the Nigerian 419 scam & has been around for years. The course they run on you varies-- typically, they start out asking for your bank account information, not to actually drain money from it, but as a flag to let them know they hooked a sucker if you're dumb enough to give them the info. Usually after that they begin milking you for money for various "transaction" or "legal" fees to pay for the processing of this fabulous deal they're going to let you in on. Often they'll try to persuade you to actually get on a fucking plane and fly to Nigeria. Once you get there they start extorting money from you or just flat out kidnap you.
