While this is quite true, I think it's still worth it to try to make a 
GCJ-compiled node in order to get around the problems of setting up a JVM 
(both technically and politically).  Also, the process may help spot bugs in 
GCJ (in fact, MJR's early attempts have already helped do this).  This may 
not directly help Freenet, but it does help the Free Software community in 
general, which can't be a bad thing.
