I seem to be noticing an instability in the new Fred code, over the last
week. This seems to be confirmed by other users of the Frost boards.

I have not yet seen a definite answer to this, but the symptoms are always
the same (confirmed with other people). After between 20 minutes and 3-4
hours, the node will stop responding, and it's CPU consumption will go to
100%.

It started happening about a week ago. Do you know what the problem is?

Perhaps you should make "stable" and "unstable" releases separately? Because
this way, all people who keep their permanent nodes up-to-dat enow have
nodes that don't work...

When is a fix for this expected? I've never seen this problem before? Can you
at least confirm what the last stable snapshot was, and make it available for
download? That would at least get us all up and running again...

Also, someone came up with good idea on the Frost Freenet board - could you
please put a link to the IBM JRE on the Downloads page, and change the
recommendation from Sun's to IBM's JRE? As most people seem to be finding,
IBM's JRE is light years ahead of Sun's... Just thought I'd mention it, as it
doesn't look like the people who were discussing this have gotten around to
posting it...

Regards.

Gordan
