Hi.

I have an opportunity to run a node multi-homed. I have two completely
separate outgoing interfaces that are load balanced.

The problem is, I can only specify one address/name in the config file
(correct me if I am wrong here, please).

So, the node always reports it's one specified name, which means it is always
specified on the one interface. I know that I could specify multiple
addresses using DNS for a single host, but this probably won't make the
optimal use of load balancing, as I am guessing that it is always the first
address supplied to the remote node that will get used...

And besides, this would mean that I would have to use a service such as
Granite Canyon, or a set up a DNS server myself on my server to make this
happen. I do plan to do this, but I haven't gotten around to it yet... In the
meantime, though, is there a way a feature could be added that would let
nodes recognize the "multihomedness" (new word?)? At the moment, I am getting
outgoing traffic load balanced, but all the incoming traffic to the node is
going through the interface specified in the config file.

Before you ask, yes I have the appropriate port forwarding already sorted out.

Can anyone advise on a best way to handle this? I don't want to run two
separate nodes.

Regards.

Gordan
