The power of positive thought, as my grandmother would say. Yes, it is possible to know what data is passing through your node, and you could censor it if you wanted. (Hey, it's your node after all.) The problem is that to censor in anything close to realtime you'd have to know ahead of time what files correspond to what hashes. And if you know ahead of time it's because the files are already distributed through Freenet. Your one node isn't going to have that much of an effect on the whole of Freenet. The information will still be available, just not through you. What I meant above by "the power of positive thought" is that this censoring is only kept at bay by the non-censoring goodwill of the masses of node operators. It'd take a lot of censorers to effectively censor anything. But it's (marginally) possible. -todd _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://hawk.freenetproject.org:8080/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech
