"Welcome back. I thought you had defected to I2P. :)"

One of the many, you mean? ;-p

Nah, I've been busy with other things, lately. Didn't go much to the I2P
chans neither.

Though, ofcourse, I2P remains interesting, and has some advantages above
Freenet (IMHO). But hey, I'm not going one way or another before I've tried
out 0.7.! :-) not after all those long days, weeks, months, years,
decen...o, wait...well, not after all that time waiting for it. ;-)

It is true I don't like the 'private darknet' on bit; it's a useless
exercise to prove a point, but without it having a chance of actually being
used by the masses, let alone being broadly adopted. But ah, we've been over
this before: we have differet opinions on the matter.

I would love to try out the open darknet, however.

"The below would be ideal for the beginnings of a wiki page... I'm sure
there's similar stuff you could link..."

Yeah, nice idea. Though, since it's a wiki, no one has to wait on anybody
else for doing it. ;-) There was another thing, long ago, which was exactly
something Freenet could be used for (which was one of the prime examples
back then that made me realise we need a system like Freenet in the West
too). I believe it was about two UK spies, trying to publish a book about
the wrongdoings of the state and UK government. Of course, the government
forbids it right away, to avoid being dragged into an international scandal
;-). Imagine if that 'dirty business' of the government had been placed on a
uncensorable network...well, there wouldn't be much they could do about it,
would there? I thought it was a clear example of abuse of governmental
powers..just to cover their own butt, because they knew some things they did
or ordered, were higly illegal. (Well, one doesn't have to look far; they
shoot people without trial, after all).

Anyway, it might be a good idea for a wikipage, indeed.
