I don't think it's mandatory : As soon as people can pull jars from
either HTTP or RSYNC in a crontab, it should be enough.

Yes, of course it can... However, I'm not keen on the idea of using
dns based round-robins as if a mirror is down, the connection will be
refused :/ I think that using a "captive" page would be better (by
captive I mean sourceforge like : prompting for which mirror to use).

Of course we can provide both ;)
