Hi,
I'm currently designing the architecture around "the blue bunny"
standing on the systray : I'd like some input from you.
The bunny needs to provide :
a) open browser
b) start the node
c) stop the node
d) exit
---
suggested by toad:
e) emergency throttle
f) un-emergency throttle
Is anything else usefull ?
Shall the bunny be cross-platform ?
It's now possible to make it cross-platform using
http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2SE/Desktop/mustang/systemtray/
The only caveat is that it requires mustang (sun's java 1.6) wich isn't stable
yet.
For your information, it's estimated time of arrival is "fall 2006" :
0.7-final won't be out by then... Our installer could detect whether
the user is using mustang or not and propose installing the bunny or
not according to that.
I'm in favour of making it cross-platform even if it means :
* That it won't be widely deployed until mustang is
* That freejvms users won't seize it ... for a while
