Have you decided whether to simulate Freenet 0.5 or Freenet 0.7 (the new darknet version)? The routing protocols are quite different. I've submitted a proposal to the Google Summer of Code that will involve discrete event-based simulation of Freenet 0.7 to evaluate load-balancing algorithms. I was thinking of using my own homebrew simulator written in Java but I'm also open to using OMNeT++ if there's a compelling reason. Maybe we could share some ideas and/or code? I should find out whether I got funding for the proposal in the next few days.
