Please review/comment. Note that it is increasingly clear that opennet is seriously insecure on a whole range of levels. It should be possible to secure a darknet using premix routing, but that's not really possible with opennet. We should definitely include a warning on the front page when you are running in pure opennet mode... Something like: "Your Freenet node is running in promiscuous (opennet) mode. This means it will connect to anyone, and it is very easy for it to be found by an attacker. We <b>strongly</b> recommend that you get some true darknet connections - connections to people you actually know, either online or offline - as soon as possible. You can get your node reference <a href="/darknet/myref.fref">here</a>, and you can add other people's references via the <a href=/darknet/>darknet page</a>; they must add you as well as you adding them." However, with such a warning, it seems that opennet could be a valuable contribution to freenet; making it possible to get started with Freenet quickly, then moving people over to darknet for obvious reasons. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
