The idea of a cross between Freenet and Haggle running on mobile
phones sounds very interesting. I'd suggest basing it on the Android
mobile phone platform, to start off with at last. Android is a very
easy to use platform that is completely open source. So, for example,
if it doesn't currently do anonymous wifi it could be easily altered
to do so. Also, unlike iPhones, Android phones run (more or less) Java
so would be more compatible with Freenet's existing code base.

Something else to consider is that, as well as wifi, these phones have
G3 Internet connections and GPS. So there might be a limited place for
using the Internet connections and the GPS to security communicate
your location with your friend's phones in order to help you get into
wi-fi range.
