I have used: apptix (mailstreet and others) ... link2exchange ... and sherweb. There is one thing they all have in common: They're managed, outsourced, and you don't get as much freedom or flexibility as you would have, if you had your own exchange server. That being said, running your own mailserver is not for everyone. It requires meticulous attention to detail, and depending on the size of your organization, outsourcing might just be cheaper too. Assuming you're interested in basic functionality ... adding/creating users ... decent antispam/antivirus ... web access, outlook access, pop and/or imap... aliases... resource reservations (conference rooms etc) ... You know ... normal stuff outsourced... Then they're all just fine. Right now, I use sherweb, cuz they're so damn cheap. I'm happy with them. They schedule system outages once every ... 2 weeks or so. I presume to apply system updates. With none of these do you get administrator access to the server. And you'll have to investigate each one for your preferred backup method. I don't know cuz I've never used any of them with an additional backup. Which you really should do if you can. _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list Tech@lists.lopsa.org https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
