Hi,

We've recently deployed a PC over IP solution using VMware for a CAD
based client. They were very happy with it.

We ran a short video demonstration. 1st, the video was played over RDP.
It was like watching a 24 fps to 25 fps conversion. Very choppy.

We then switch to the PCoIP solution and it was like wow, that is
amazing! The video wasn't HD or anything, but it was a vast
improvement.

It was using thin clients with dual head.

Greg.

Subject: [lopsa-tech] High-Performance graphics on remote desktops?

As everyone here knows, the problem with remote desktops (RDP, VDI, etc)
is that anything media or graphically related is *SLOW*. And if you are
using a Desktop as a Service (DaaS) model, the problem is even worse.

Has anyone tried out:

HP RGS?

I know I'm keeping an eye out on RemoteFX.

We run a large number of Windows terminal servers for clients, and
technologies like RemoteFX look very interesting.
