The DRAC is a little arm board, much like the HP ILO that is a seperate computer. you can log in and do most of what you need. However, if you need the KVM over IP functionality, you still need internet explorer on a windows box. Me, I've never seen a KVM over IP that was worth 1/10th what a serial console is worth on a linux box, so it's not a problem for me. The DRAC makes a fine serial console platform. (you can ssh into the drac and see the other side of com2, I think.) but keep in mind, dell is charging you a few hundred bucks for that KVM over IP. If money matters, serial console can be had with a /radically/ lower per-port cost. _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
